The Age of this vase and cart is unknown but I believe it to be late 1800's or early 1900's. My friend found this vase in Redondo Beach California, while a bulldozer was clearing some old building for new construction in 1978. She took this item to Bonhams and Butterfields (fine arts auctioneers) in Los Angeles California and they told her that it is a Hanakago antique. Note: some consider that an item must be 100 years old to qualify as an antique. The decorated wheels on the cart turn, so the item can be easily moved. The condition of the vase and cart are exceptional for thier age, I grade them very fine to excellent. There is a very nice patina on the surface of the metal. Please note that the cart frame is pointing down, this can be reversed where as the fram is pointing up. Your guess is as good as mine as to which is right; up or down?
